Want to save some money (who doesn't)?  Wide backings make things easier for both you and your quilter, and save you money.  You can generally spend lots less money buying wide fabrics for your backing than buying 6-8 yards of regular fabric and then piecing it together.

Wide backings are available locally in the Eugene/Springfield area at:

Something to Crow About, 4227 Main Street, Springfield  541-746-3256
The Quilt Patch, W. 3rd Street, Eugene  541-484-1925
Quilter's Junction, 415 S. A Street, Springfield  541-741-2302
Jean Marie's Fabrics, 637 Main Street, Springfield  541-746-0433

These stores also carry a line of quilt battings that are well-suited to longarm quilting.

A large selection of quilt backings cut as "Fat Backs" is available from Christian Lane Quilters (please see my products page).  These backings are cut to fit a Queen-sized quilt, with enough extra on each side for loading on a longarm machine.  This is another great money-saving tool.
